Tea drinkers may have better breath than those who don't drink tea, according to researchers at the College of Dentistry at the University of Illinois. Both black and green teas contain polyphenols, which can reduce or eliminate bacteria that cause bad breath. Adding sugar to tea, however, can reduce the tea's effectiveness, because sugar encourages the bacteria to grow.
